about

Probably like many others i made my first contact with IT at the tender age of 7. At that time all i wanted was playing Games like Styx, Kings Quest, etc. My PC was running DOS and later Windows 3.0 - what a great time!

A little later, at the end of 1995, i heard about an alternative operating sytem screaming to replace my Windows NT 3.51 installation. Pushing all of my 9600 bauds i got my first version of linux. Since that time i developed lots of software for the linux and windows world, worked as sysadmin, did some documentation, and trained other people. SuSE Logo

Since 1st January 2005 i am working for the City of Munich at the LiMux project (which you probably heard of somewhere else). Currently my job role is Development Lead Linux Client / IT Security Consultant.

My daily tasks include improving our custom distribution (based on Debian GNU/Linux), security consulting, problem management, etc.

Before a new version is released, i'm usually camping in our testlabs, testing and developing patches to deliver the best Corporate Linux Desktop i can think of.
